Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and nsfas 2025 TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until nsfas check the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
